Vba For Inserting Images Into Excel Mac

Hey guys,
I'm new to VBA/Macros and I have a fairly complicated problem that requires a robust solution.
Essentially I have a folder of images on a file server. All these images are the same size and have the same filename nomenclature. I need an excel file to take names from Column A and automatically insert corresponding images, resized to fit into Column B.
For example:
If cell A2 holds the value 'September21' I need the image titled 'September21.jpg' from a specified folder to be inserted and resized (to 2' by 2') into cell B2.
Right now I'm running Excel 2011 on MAC, but the macros needs to work for both Windows and MAC Excel 2011. I've tried a plethora of solutions but nothing seems to work with MAC (let alone both MAC and PC).
Please, please any help or references would be very appreciated! I've been stuck on this for days.
Thanks!

The easiest way to insert a picture in Excel from another application is this: Select an image in another application, for example in Microsoft Paint, Word or PowerPoint, and click Ctrl + C to copy it. Switch back to Excel, select a cell where you want to put the image and press Ctrl + V to paste it. To insert an animated gif image in an Excel spreadsheet, you must insert the image into a control. To insert the control go to View Toolbars Control Toolbox. Next, activate Design mode and choose the last button (the one with a hammer). Then, select Microsoft Web Browser. Draw a frame for the image and disable Design mode and the toolbar.

How to resize pictures to fit cells in Excel?

Normally inserted pictures floats over cells, and most of time one pictures covers a lot of cells. If a worksheet has a large number of pictures, you may want to put each picture into a single cell. But how to deal with it? Actually, there are several tricky ways to help us resize pictures to fit cells' size quickly.

it works if the cells are not merged. unfortunately, I merged some cells and it fits only in the upper left cell which makes the photo very tiny.
