I use OneNote on my phone, tablet, and laptop. In the last few days it has begun putting my initials next to every change I make. They all use the same account, and this never happened before. It's pretty annoying. The only thing that has changed in the last few days was that I upgraded my tablet to Windows 10 for a few hours before I reverted back to 8.1.

All Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, let your personalize your copy of the software with your name and initials. Your name is used to identify your revisions if you use the “Track Changes” function in an Office document. Your initials are attached to comments you make when you review an Office document. Outlook automatically inserts your Windows account name and creates initials based on that name when you install the program. You can change both the name and initials within Outlook.

Click “File,” then “Options” and click the “General” tab.

Click the “Initials” text box in the “Personalize Your Copy of Microsoft Office” panel. You can delete the initials in the text box or change them to any initials you want. You can also click the “User Name” text box, and change or delete the name, then click “OK.”

Tip

• If you make changes to the initials and name in Outlook, the change will extend to all Office programs.
